Why your SaaS Business needs a Website

Why your SaaS Business needs a Website

Your SaaS business needs a website in order to track website ROI. Earlier on as a freelance web designer, I would approach potential customers and pitch them websites. I would also have to explain to them why they even needed a website in the first place. Now times have changed as most businesses have come to understand that they do need a website. Apart from ROI being the main reason why your SaaS business needs a website, here are a few other reasons why-

To be more discoverable by your customers

With good search engine optimisation (SEO) practices, you are more likely to be found by your ideal customer. This would be less likely if you didn’t have a website at all. Telephone directories like the Yellow Pages were once  the go-to reference when looking for a specific service or trade. Now with our smart phones it is far much easier to do a quick search online to find a service. That search would often lead to the business’s website with their specific services listed, opening times and other helpful information.

To be platform independent and in control

More businesses are increasingly using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc for their business social media as well as marketing. The truth is that you have no control over how these social platforms operate or perform. With constant algorithm changes and updates you have to stay on your toes to keep up with your competitors. Similarly, if all your ads depended on them, you can’t predict how long in the future they’ll be around for. Just think of all the customers you would lose if any of these social platforms shut down.

For credibility in this digital age

We are living in the digital age. It has become common practice to look up a company’s website before engaging in any business with them. We usually head straight to our favourite search engine like Google or Bing to try to find them. You are more likely to feel confident knowing they have a website that looks legit and has contact details. It helps to create trust to some level before any interaction.

For branding

To be able to tell your own story, how you want to tell it. Having your own website gives you the opportunity to be able to uniquely sell yourself. Being able to talk to your customers in a very specific way maintaining your brand. You have no limitations apart from your own imagination as to how you want the public eye to perceive you.
